In addition the primer contains Ultraviolet (UV) inhibitors to aid in prolonging the applied coating service life.The application of COELAN Yellow Primer is a vital component in making COELAN Boat Coating Products among the very best wood coating and finishing products on the market. COELAN coating will exceed application life of any traditional varnish. When COELAN Coating is applied in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines the user can expect several years of use with no re-coating necessary.
COELAN Yellow primer is applied to sound, damage or defect free, clean, properly sanded and prepared most bare hard and softwood surfaces. Depending on wood porosity two coats of primer minimum are required prior to application of COELAN transparent gloss coating.
COELAN coating is a proprietary, single component, micro-porous formulation allowing a one way transfer of moisture into the atmosphere which prevents cracking or lifting of the coating. Significant cost saving associated with reduction in materials, maintenance frequency and labor can be achieved. The combined primer and COELAN coating system when properly applied will not require re-coating for many years and has been proven to be an extremely long lasting replacement for varnish and paint.
COELAN Primer Yellow 250 ml
Intended Product Use:COELAN Yellow Primer is primarily intended
for use on various light colored hard and softwood surfaces. These would
include spruce, pin, fir, teak and larch varieties. Since the primer
helps in the creation of a firm mechanical bond and chemical reaction
with the COELAN Boat Coating product its application is required on all
bare wood.
Consumption:
7 fluid ounces per 10.5 square feet.
200 ml. per 1 square meter.
Figures shown are approximate and dependent on wood porosity.
Consumption rates shown are for a single coat of primer with two coats
being required. Soft or extremely porous wood will require additional
primer coats.
